Lexi and 6 others were asked to sing the National Anthem at an assemble in honor of veterans who have earned special awards, from the Army Navy and Marines.
The girls sounded awesome! The men that spoke told of specific things they they saw and learned in the war. They then opened it up so the kids could ask them questions.
It made me think of my Grandpa Irl and the stories he told. He didn't share many- but I remember him telling a few. I also thought of my father- in- law, I never got to meet him or hear any of his stories- but I am so thankful for his service. It's so easy for us Americans to take out freedoms for granted, especially if we don't have a family member serving right now.
