Spring Break In Las Vegas

We decided to take the kids to Las Vegas for Spring Break. We have been there so many times, but we usually only visit family. This time we decided to take the kids to a couple shows and do a little sight seeing. But, we also got to see our families- and we loved that too!
Living in Arkansas and Minnesota for so long means that our kids are not used to the Las Vegas way of life, even though we lived there for a few years with 3 of our kids.
I am not a fan of large cities and busy roads, I like our slower paced city where you rarely hear any sirens of any kind.
We took the kids to the Welcome to Las Vegas sign- it's just something you have to do! While there we saw a couple get married by and Elvis impersonator, and he also sang to them.

We really enjoyed Blue Man Group, it was fun, and great for the entire family.

Mystere was so good! The kids all loved the acrobatics and they also loved the casinos. They thought it was amazing that there were so many stores, even a mall inside a casino.

We also went to Hoover Dam for some sight seeing. We were going to do a tour but the girls wanted to just walk around and see for ourselves- a 3 hour tour didn't seem very appealing to them.

Darrell is consoling Baylee because he thought she was climbing the wall and yelled. It scared her and embarrassed her- which means she wouldn't let anyone see her face for almost 5 minutes.

We were able to spend Easter with both Grandma's and a lot of cousins. We really miss family- it's never easy being so far from them.

After every trip we are glad to get home and back to normal- but the ache to live by family never goes away.

Mount Rushmore

My nephew Trevor was getting married, and we decided to take a bit of a scenic drive to Utah. We have never been to Mount Rushmore- and wish we could have stayed longer. It is beautiful in the mountains, and absolutely amazing that they've got faces on mountains!

Baylee Turns 5!

Baylee had a Pajama and Pancake Party. She asked each of her friends to come in pink or purple pajamas, we played a game with pom poms, took pictures with props, and ate pink pancakes. These little girls were hilarious! 4-5 year olds are the best!

Happy birthday Baylee- we love you bunches!!

Kids Activities

Each of the kids have really enjoyed all their activities- and we love watching them!

I didn't get any of Ashlee in tumbling- she carpooled with a friend, one of those things when you have more children then you do cars and people to drive them around.

Family Pictures

We needed an updated family picture for my Grandma Betty's 90th birthday party. I asked a friend in our ward if she'd be willing to take some of us even though it was freezing outside. I was excited because we were above freezing temps- which was a really big deal. But, being in the shade and not taking into account the wind- it was really really cold! The kids had hand warmers in their shirts and pants- that's how cold it was..

Here's a few of them!

Ashlee's Orchestra Concert

Ashlee loves the viola- and she works very hard at it. When we moved here she was 2 years behind all the kids in school, but with only a couple months of private lessons she has caught right up!

We love watching her play, and love watcing her learn and succeed!
